Labor Day Fun

This year for Labor Day weekend, we headed to Troy to stay with my Dad-in-law. We had a great time! We were joined by over 36,000 people who came to Troy for the Gentlemen of the Road tour with Mumford & Sons.  Pretty amazing to see so many people in a small town.

Before Labor Day, our week was spent without Daddy, who was travelling all over the place for work from Monday morning (ahem... 4:30 a.m.! yuck) until Thursday late afternoon. It was a long week but we made the best of it.  We spent time at the free zoo (aka - the pet store):

Spent a day sick on the couch eating popsicles and trying not to move because it made her throw up:

Then we danced the afternoons away until Daddy came home.  Thanks to the Cirque show we took her to, we receive at least one show each day by Emma Sue :)

Daddy flew home and we un-packed, re-packed and headed on to Troy for the long weekend.  We were lucky enough to have super hot weather *insert sarcasm* but we made the best of it. We headed downtown to check out the people flowing into town for the Mumford & Sons concert.  Pretty amazing to see all of these tents everywhere:

In the evening on Saturday, we drove down and happened to find a great, free parking spot. This is truly amazing because parking spots were going for $25!  So, we pulled into our spot and sat on the river bank by the levy and listened to the first few songs that Mumford & Sons sang. It was cool :)  Plus, Emma met a new friend who loved to dance and they danced non-stop the entire time we were there:

Sunday we went to church and had lunch with Uncle Patrick & Aunt Brandy. We had a nice, lazy Sunday and enjoyed every minute of it!

Monday we headed to the Piqua Heritage Festival. It was way bigger than I expected and was a lot of fun! Emma met another new friend, Charlie. She spent time at his Grandpa's tent playing with him and it was one of her favorite parts. She is such a social kid!

Daddy made us a very yummy dinner and then we headed back to Columbus and back to our regular routine. It was a nice, long weekend while it lasted and now we dive head first into our fall/winter schedule. Fun times!
